Rocking Horse Media

Rocking Horse Media is an independent film and television production company founded in Oswestry, Shropshire, more than eleven years ago.

We develop and produce original film and television projects, with a strong emphasis on authentic, inclusive storytelling. Our flagship project is “Henry House”, a female-led television comedy-drama set within a rural, family-run care home. The pilot brought a high-profile cast to film in Oswestry and the surrounding area, with local businesses, organisations, locations, cast and crew all contributing to the production. The pilot is now complete, with the full series in development.

Accessibility and inclusion are central to our ethos. We are committed to creating meaningful routes into the film and television industry, particularly for those who may otherwise struggle to access such opportunities, including people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and those facing barriers linked to their location or educational background. Our accessible industry work experience programme has received national awards and recognition for its approach and commitment to inclusion.

We also place particular emphasis on identifying and nurturing emerging local talent, giving young people from the area meaningful opportunities to develop their skills, gain industry experience and work alongside established professionals.

Alongside developing and producing our own projects, Rocking Horse Media also undertakes commissioned film and video production for businesses, organisations and other clients. We work with local schools, colleges, charities, community organisations and industry partners to deliver industry talks, workshops, training, work experience and professional production opportunities, while helping strengthen the screen-sector network in and around Oswestry.
