CBeebies Panto Lands at Maona Cinema
Families are set to embark on a high-seas Christmas adventure this December as Maona Cinema partners with Invest in Oswestry to bring the magic of the CBeebies Christmas Panto to the big screen.
On Saturday 19th December at 2:00pm, local audiences can enjoy an exclusive screening of Treasure Island, a vibrant retelling of the classic pirate tale produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions. Filmed live in front of an audience at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre, the cinematic showcase brings all the energy, music, and sparkle of the beloved television tradition straight to the local community.
The action-packed story follows young Jim and his dad, Bertie, as they set sail across the high seas on an unforgettable treasure hunt. Along the way, the duo encounters sneaky pirates, a delightfully chatty seagull, and a very festive surprise. Designed to entertain everyone from toddlers to grandparents, the production features an original musical score by Banks & Wag guaranteed to get audiences of all ages singing, dancing, and a-harr’ing along. Beneath the pirate antics lies a heartwarming story about the value of family and listening to the ones you love.
Packed with fan-favourite CBeebies stars, the cast features household names including Justin Fletcher, Andy Day, Jennie Dale, Rhys Stephenson, Rebecca Keatley, Evie Pickerill, Joanna Adeyinka Burford, George Webster, and Dodge the Dog, with additional familiar faces popping up among the crew.
Holly Maries, Duty Manager at Maona said: “We are delighted to screen a festive production that was requested by the local community for young people and families. We hope it will provide a fun seasonal option that brings families and friends together at this magical time of year.”
