Oswestry’s vibrant business scene continues to shine as local favourite Henstone Distillery announces its latest creation: the Ex Champagne Cask Whisky.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail right here in the area, this new release represents an exciting fusion of traditional whisky distilling and fine French winemaking heritage.

The single malt spent its initial four years maturing in classic ex-Jim Beam casks before being transferred to finish in a 225-litre Charlemagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blanc French Oak Barrique, previously housing 100% Chardonnay Champagne.

The resulting spirit is bright, fresh, and remarkably vibrant. Expect a lively, sherbet-like acidity on the palate that brings a delightful “fizz” of fruit and citrus, making it a truly distinctive addition to any collection.
