Hogs Inns is delighted to announce the opening of The Tankard, Oswestry, following an extensive refurbishment programme after acquiring the property in July 2026.

The much-anticipated reopening will take place on Wednesday 23 September 2026, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for one of Oswestry’s well-known pub venues.

Since taking ownership earlier this summer, the Hogs Inns team has invested significantly in revitalising the property, creating a warm, welcoming venue that combines the character of a traditional British pub with a fresh new look and feel.

The refurbishment has focused on enhancing the customer experience throughout the venue while respecting the building’s heritage and its place within the local community.

Jason Hodnett, Operations Director for Hogs Inns, said:

Customers can expect an extensive drinks offering including Monty’s beers, Henstone distillery spirits & crafted cocktails alongside excellent service, and a programme of events and entertainment that will establish Hogs Inn the Tankard as a key destination in Oswestry.
