Local Business Owner Shaves It All to Support Lingen Davies Cancer Centre

Local Business Owner Shaves It All to Support Charity

Oswestry local Sarah Lewis, 58, is taking on a bold fundraising challenge this Halloween to support a cause close to the hearts of many across Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Sarah, a freelance fitness instructor and owner of her own domestic cleaning business, will be shaving off her hair to raise vital funds for the Lingen Davies Cancer Support fund.

The idea came about organically while Sarah was growing her hair out. Wanting to make a positive impact, she realised her hair journey could serve a greater purpose.

“I’m not brave having my hair shaved, the brave ones are the people battling this cruel disease or those who are in remission! Let’s raise funds to help them fight!” says Sarah.

Lingen Davies Cancer Support relies heavily on community donations to continue its important work. Based in Shrewsbury, the charity provides essential support and facilities for cancer patients and their families throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales. For Sarah, choosing Lingen Davies was a natural decision after seeing the charity support people in her own network.

Join the Event

The fundraising event will take place on Saturday, 31st October at Heatwave Hair & Beauty in Oswestry.

  • Salon Opens: 9:00 AM
  • Sarah Arrives: 10:30 AM onwards
  • The Main Head Shave: Between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM

Everyone from the community is warmly invited to pop in, show their support, and enjoy a selection of drinks and cakes. As Sarah is coeliac, she will be personally baking a range of delicious gluten-free options so everyone can enjoy a treat.

How to Support

If you can’t make it to Heatwave Hair & Beauty on the day, you can still support Sarah’s fundraiser by donating online via her JustGiving page.

Come along on 31st October to cheer Sarah on and help raise money for a fantastic local cause!
