Oswestry Food & Drink Festival Delivers a Feast for the Senses

The streets of Oswestry were buzzing with energy this past weekend as thousands of visitors and locals gathered for the annual Oswestry Food & Drink Festival. Held across Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026, the free-to-attend event transformed the town centre into a vibrant celebration of local flavor, creativity, and community spirit.

A Paradise for Food Lovers

From passionate independent producers and artisan creators to mouth-watering street food vendors, the festival showcased the very best of our regional food scene. Visitors packed the streets to sample delicious treats, support independent businesses, and take in live entertainment, with local musical acts adding a fantastic soundtrack to the weekend’s festivities.

Raising a Glass at the Cambrian Beer Festival

Adding to the weekend’s lively atmosphere, the Cambrian Beer Festival ran from Friday 3rd through to Sunday 5th July at the historic Oswestry Station Building on Oswald Road. For just a £5 entry ticket, attendees enjoyed access to a fantastic selection of ales and ciders in the event room, a commemorative half-pint glass, and a starter half-pint for those who booked online.

The station came alive with live music on Saturday evening, but the real highlight for many was the unique opportunity to hop aboard the steam and diesel train services running between Oswestry and Weston Wharf. Passengers were able to take their ales on the train for a relaxing trip down the line, with many using the service to travel down to Stonehouse Brewery.

The Oswestry Bake-Off & Community Highlights

Sunday brought an extra layer of excitement with The Oswestry Bake-Off taking over the Memorial Hall. Enthusiastic bakers dropped off their finest breads, pastries, cookies, and cakes, giving the judges a tough but delicious task before the final prizes were awarded in the afternoon.

The community celebrations didn’t stop at the town centre limits; many attendees rounded off their Sunday by heading down to Cae Glas Park to unwind with some live music at Reggae in the Park, wrapping up a stellar weekend for the town’s cultural calendar.
